3. Sportsmanship & Playing by Intent
The goal of these tournaments is to have fun, learn, and earn some bragging rights. Please follow these guidelines:
-
Play by intent — clearly communicate what you're doing and why.
-
Share your rules — you must have your datasheets, stratagems, etc. available to show your opponent on request. Failure to do so may result in point penalties or a game loss at the TO's discretion.
-
Show your dice — ensure all rolls are clearly visible to your opponent.
-
Flag "gotcha" rules — inform your opponent of rules like reactive moves or return fire at the start of the match, and remind them if they come up during play.
-
Call the TO — for any questions about rules, movement, line of sight, or anything else, don't hesitate to call for the TO.
4. Concessions & End of Round
-
The TO will not accept concessions before the end of Battle Round 3. Players are encouraged to play all 5 battle rounds, as tiebreakers rely on accurate point totals.
-
The time allotted per round should be sufficient to complete all 5 battle rounds. If time expires before the game concludes, players must stop and consult the TO, who will then review the board state and objectives and determine how the remaining rounds would likely play out to arrive at a final score.
-
Simply put: finish your game on time if you don't want the TO deciding the outcome!
5. Prizes
-
The prize pool is based on attendance and awarded as Toy Soldier gift cards.
-
Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and last place (the coveted Unlucky Git award)
-
Typical Prizes for 12-16 players is First Place $60, Second $40, Third $30, Last $10.
